Mr. David P. Markert is an experienced executive, innovator, engineer and leader. He has over 30 years of experience in aviation and engineering focusing on leading-edge innovation. He is worked for the Progeny Systems Corporation for the last ten years and currently is the Business Area Manager (Vice President) for Aviation and Maritime Surveillance Systems. Previously, Markert founded Tactical Systems Engineering (TSE) LLP where he served as the CEO and Chief Engineer of the Wingman UAS program – an air-launched UAS that was successfully test flown in March 2013. From 2007 to 2008 Mr. Markert worked as a Senior Engineer at the MITRE Corporation. Previously, Markert was a career Naval Officer with multiple leadership, fleet and staff tours including the Commanding Officer of the ONR Global Office in London, England and as the Deputy Program Manager (DPM) of the T-6 aircraft program – a $5 Billion, ACAT 1D program. Markert had numerous operational assignments in 23 years of Naval service including three years as a Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) Instructor. He has over 3000 flight hours and 450+ arrested landings mostly as an F-14 Naval Flight Officer where he was a combat aviator and qualified Strike Lead. Mr. Markert has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, an MA in Foreign Affairs from the US Naval War College and an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
